The Story Of Tenalach Acres & The Artistry Of Bee Keeping To Candle Making
From harvesting the beeswax from our personal hives, to rendering & purifying the wax, each step of creating these candles is midwifed by my hands & heart from the source of its origin: the hive. Likewise, the pansies are tenderly grown from seed in my garden each summer; each bloom is hand selected, then dried in my press to prepare it for adorning the beeswax tapers.
It is by deep intention & purposeful design that I create each of these floral beeswax tapers. This journey was not strictly birthed from the creative desire of learning to make candles, although of course this is part of the beauty of it, but rather the devoting of myself to the ancient remembrance of truly working with the hive’s medicines from beginning to end in every way. Every facet of the journey of these candles coming into their luminary-being begins & comes to completion on our northern Alberta homestead, all in reverence to the art of beekeeping, honouring our pollinators & the land, & blessing human-kind’s homes with the medicine of this co-creative interweaving of human & bee.
