Nestled amongst the spruce, pine and poplars of the Northern Alberta Boreal Forest & bordering the Mighty Peace River,
Tenalach Acres & Apiary is owned & cared for by us, Neil & Paris Simpson, along with our two young daughters.
Our farm is our haven, where we raise grass fed beef, organic crops, & garden while foraging the natural forests & meadows for herbs and berries.
Within the evolution of our farm & vision, Tenalach Acres Apiary was birthed out of our deep love for tending to the land & her ecosystems. Within that, honey bees became an important pillar within our lifestyle.
As mindful beekeepers, our hearts are to honour these magical pollinators and what they have to offer.
Through our sustainable practices, our intent is to share with others the potency & necessity of what honey bees offer the earth, along with a pledge to being devotional stewards of all that we have been blessed in tending to.
Our co-creative offerings from our bee's hives & our hands ensure the purest of bee medicines.
Every step of the process within our beekeeping, from tending to the hives to delivering the final product, is done right here on our farm-

In ancient times, bee pollen was considered sacred food. The Greeks & Romans donned bee pollen as “life giving dust”. The Egyptians believed it was the secret “ambrosia” that unveiled youth eternal & buried their loved ones with a jar of pollen to aid them in their journey into the afterlife. Native Americans revered bee pollen as a treasured medicine.
Bee Pollen is created through a beautiful reciprocity-dance between bee & flower. Bee pollen consists of the flower’s nectar & pollen, while the worker bee contributes her salivary secretions to it as she collects-this is full of bee medicine. Bee Pollen contains over 250 active substances, including vitamins, amino acids, minerals, and antioxidants. A single teaspoon of bee pollen a day contains:

All of our electuaries are made here in small batches on our farm, the herbs either grown organically in our gardens, foraged or sourced from trusted farmers who uphold earth-honouring standards.

Oxymels are a strongly steeped herbal infusion in raw apple cider vinegar & Tenalach Acres honey. Each of the oxymels are made in small batches by us on our farm. The herbs are grown either on our land, wild crafted, or sourced from trusted farms who uphold earth-honouring practices to ensure the highest quality of herbs. Oxymels are a wonderful way to receive gut-supporting tending in a delicious way. Enjoy straight out of the bottle, added to sparkling mineral water, or added to other beverages.
